To calculate our carbon footprint as completely and accurately as possible to present an audited and certified carbon footprint to our partner IWCA.
Overview
Château Troplong Mondot, is a distinguished Premier Grand Cru Classé wine estate in Saint-Emilion, a Bordeaux wine region. Its unique geographical exposure leads to the distinctive, complex style of its wines.
The Troplong Mondot estate is blessed with remarkable biodiversity and for decades, the estate has been a proactive steward of the environment, focusing on three pivotal areas: preservation and enhancement of biodiversity, waste management, and the reduction of its carbon footprint.

Customer challenge
Our challenge was to collect a large amount of data and to be able to analyse it efficiently and methodically to calculate our carbon footprint. With our tool and data being scrutinised by a third-party expert on the subject, this exercise required us to increase our skills in data management as well as our expertise in the carbon footprint tool.

Following LRQA’s audit and validation of the greenhouse gas emissions quality management procedure, Château Troplong Mondot’s carbon footprint tool and the associated calculations have been certified in accordance with the industry reference standard. The audited carbon footprint led to Château Troplong Mondot achieving Silver Membership certification from the International Wineries for Climate Action (IWCA) association, further solidifying their commitment to environmental sustainability.
